Why Chica Brava?
Chica Brava is the original women’s surf retreat in Nicaragua and one of the very first in the world. Since 2007, we’ve worked exclusively with women, developing a results-driven training program that is detailed, goal-oriented, and uniquely tailored to adult women. Our all-female coaching team specializes in helping first-timers build a solid foundation, and helping advanced beginners and intermediates break through plateaus.
We’re not a party scene, and we’re not a boot camp. We’re a structured, supportive environment where solo female travelers can come to challenge themselves, learn something new, and enjoy a fully hosted experience with plenty of camaraderie and fun along the way.
Why Nicaragua?
Chica Brava is based in San Juan del Sur, a vibrant and welcoming surf town on Nicaragua’s Pacific Coast. The area is known for its natural beauty, friendly locals, and consistent waves, making it an ideal setting for women seeking both adventure and ease. Nicaragua is widely regarded as a safe and traveler-friendly destination, especially in the well-loved areas where we operate.
Whether you’re a seasoned solo traveler or this is your first trip on your own, Chica Brava is a safe, well-organized, and inspiring place to go for it. You’ll arrive solo, but you’ll leave with a new crew and a whole lot to be proud of.
