Welcome to paradise where the rum runs free and the waves never stop. Well, at least the second part is true. The ladies of the farm had a very relaxed mood to surfing. They surfed all day but they also hung by the pool, sailed the seas with Pelican Eyes and squeezed in some yoga. Six of the ladies were from Houston and are all nurses! Our other three ladies were from various parts of the country! The girls each wrote what they took from their experience at Chica Brava, and we quoted them below.

Julie aka The Hamburglar was a true inspirations to us all. She not only popped up with style and grace but she had an amazing surfing outfit! This lady sure knew how to relax and have fun at the same time, she even surfed in between her down time. “Chica Brava allowed me to challenge myself in ways I never imagined. The staff are all truly inspiring women.”

The video, this week, is an amazing example of every person is a unique individual, but we all have something in common, surfing!!

Ariel surfed her way right into her birthday this week. We celebrated Chica Brava style at El Timon with good food, salsa dancing, and cake! She cruised into town looking for a good time and came out an awesome surfer. “Chica Brava was an awesome and epic trip! I was defiantly able to check off a bunch of items off my bucket list while here. Chicas and instructors were so cool, friendly, encouraging and ‘m so happy to have met everyone.”

Oh, Becky G., you are a amazing women! You had some amazing rides this week and an amazing laugh to boot! Thanks for making this week rock! “What a great adventure this last week has been. As challenging learning to surf was, the Chica Brava staff made it a blast! Gracias Chicas.”

We can’t say enough sweet things about Hillary. She popped up on her first day and was surfing all the way to shore by the end of the day. She took a page from Julie’s book and filled her time with as much relaxation as possible. Passing days by the pool up at the farm! “It was a fantastic week! From surfing to sailing, there were too many great experiences to pick a favorite. I’m going home relaxed and looking forward to another trip to Chica Brava!”

Becky S., what can we say, she is a legend. You came in with your own style of surfing and left with that same style.  You were walking the nose by day three, just remember you have to walk back! “Chica Brava is a fun and uplifting experience. A week of testing my boundaries, making new friends, and creating wonderful memories.”

Karen was our powerhouse! She was the first one in the water and the last one out. This girl pushed herself to the point of Toña time! We still think you had more experience than you led on! “Chica Brava pushed me beyond my known physical limits, my known fears and my known camaraderie with friends.”

Gina, our princess! Just kidding, Gina was the complete opposite of princess! This girl could get attacked by a swarm of bees and would still get back into the water like nothing had happened! She was an amazing surfer and an awesome person to hang with in and out of the water. “If you are looking for an adventure this place is for you! This all girls surf camp provides new experiences with amazing instructors and new friends all while enjoying the rich culture and beautiful beaches of Nicaragua.”

Marsha aka Pinky, was another one with an amazing outfit! She had a rash guard, jumpsuit that was, well, a good luck charm. As soon as she put it on she turned into a surfing machine. We were all a little disappointed that you didn’t leave it for us! “Thanks chicas for turning a face plant and some time in the washing machine into a blast! You ‘guys’ are the best!”

Last but not least is Lauren, a return chica and also a resident of SJDS. She moved here after her camp at Chica Brava to surf and live a more relaxed lifestyle. She joined the camp this week to get some extra instruction and by the end of the week she was out in the line up, surfing down the line!

When this week came to an end I was a little sad to see all you ladies leave, but I am excited to see you chicas surfing on your own. As the saying goes, here at Chica Brava you have to have a good attitude, to have a good time!
